The recent Presidential election exhibited promises from the candidates to apply to real world scenarios to achieve their "perfect" solutions. Economists realize that nobody will ever be truly satisfied with their own lives. However, perfect competition delivers a solution that will make the most amount of people as happy as they possibly can be while minimizing the average cost per unit. Unfortunately, perfect competition does not technically exist.
