Within the last month, the raw material price and consumable price combined has increased by 5.5%. If the throughput was 5 parts/hour estimates the future throughput that has to take place in order to maintain a constant production cost. Consider the yield of this production is 90%. It is known that materials contained in each product weigh 2.5kg, materials (including consumables) cost is $100/kg, All equipment cost is $750,000 to be written off in 5 years with an average machine utilization of 45% over 24 hr/day, tooling cost is $200, the overhead rate (including labor) is $250/hr, energy cost is $25/hr, space and administration cost is $120/hr, and information (R&D, royalties, licenses) is $35/hr.

Compressor is employed to compress gas : A compressor is employed to compress gas flowing steadily through it. The gas enters the compressor at a temperature of 16°C, a pressure of 100 kPa, and with an enthalpy of 391.2 kJ/kg. The gas leaves the compressor at a temperature of 245°C, a pre..
Buoyant device used for measuring specific weight of liquid : A hydrometer is a buoyant device used for measuring the specific weight of a liquid. A weighed glass bulb floats below the surface with a graduated stem extending above the surface. The position of the fluid level on the steam corresponds to the spec..
Determine the final pressure and the quality-boundary work : A piston-cylinder device initially contains 0.15-kg steam at 3.5 MPa, superheated by 5C. Now the steam loses heat to the surroundings and the piston moves down, hitting a set of stops at which point the cylinder contains saturated liquid water. The c..
