The irreversible gas phase reaction A --> 2B is conducted in an isothermal batch reactor. The reactor is charged with a mixture of 70% A and 30% inerts. The initial pressure is 90 kPa and the temperature is 400 K. The rate expression is 2nd order, that is r=k*Ca^2 and the rate constant has a value of k =0.75 m3/mol-h at 400 K. Assume ideal gases. (a) Calculate the time required to achieve 60% conversion of A in a constant pressure batch reactor.
