The commemorate British philosopher Ted Honderich has argued that our lives become better if we admit that we are not the ultimate originators of our successes and failures in Life. he thinks that even if our character and actions are not within our control, we cannot know how things will turn out for us so we must go on trying to do the best we can. If Honderich is right, hard determinism gives no reason for despair; life can still be good even if we admit we are not in control and have no free will.
