As a mentor, we often ask our mentees to make changes - either in how they may think or how they act. As noted in Chapter 6 of the text book, when people are asked to make a change they need to believe in the person that is asking them to make that change - they have to trust that you are providing them the right recommendation and that you believe what you say (Grenny, Patterson, Maxfield, McMillan & Switzler, 2013).
How will you gain that trust from your mentee so that they follow your advice? How will you demonstrate or provide "incontrovertible evidence that you believe in what you say" (Grenny, et. al., 2013, p. 158).
