the type of structure you create for a company can help determine how the company is run. Two common philosophies on how to do this are horizontal structuring and vertical structuring. Vertical structures have hierarchies that are layered. There are a lot of levels of bosses between the lowest level of employee and the CEO. Horizontal structures have hierarchies that are flatter. Most employees are on the same level and there aren't as many supervisors to report to. Each provides advantages and disadvantages.

For this week's discussion post, you will need to choose one of these theories of how to structure a company and defend it as being the best.
