Question

The majority of both male and female BPD patients had their first registered BPD diagnosis made in a psychiatric clinic, 89% and 95%, respectively (Table 3). More men than women had their first BPD diagnosis assessed in a drug dependency clinic (9% and 4% respectively). Both men and women were most likely to receive their mental health care after BPD diagnosis only in psychiatric care. Men with diagnosed BPD were more likely to get treatment in a combination of drug dependency clinics and psychiatric care, whereas women with BPD were more likely to be treated in a combination of primary care and psychiatric care.
