Q. A 2.0 kg box rests on a plank that is inclined at an angle of 65 above the horizontal. The upper end of the box is attached to a spring with force constant of 290 N/M , as shown in the figure .the coefficient of static friction between the box and the plank is 0.54, what is the maximum amount the spring can be stretched and the box remain at rest? (Hint: Static friction points opposite to the spring restoring force in this case.)

If the extension in the spring is 9/10 that computed in part A, next what is the magnitude of the force of static friction that acts on the block?

If the spring is stretched by 1.4 times the value in part A, and then released from rest, and the coefficient of kinetic friction between the box and the plank is 0.34, what is the magnitude of the initial acceleration of block as it starts moving up the incline?
