Question1

A rigid uniform horizontal bar of mass m1 = 80.00 kg and length L = 5.200 m is supported by two vertical mass less strings. String A is attached at a distance d = 1.400 m from the left end of the bar and is associated to the top plate. String B is attached to left end of the bar and is connected to the floor. An object of mass m2 = 3500 kg is supported by the crane at a distance x = 5.000 m from the left end of bar.

During this problem, positive torque is counter clockwise. Utilize 9.81 m/s^2 for the magnitude of the acceleration due to gravity.

Find out the tension in the first string.

Question2

Two towers have heights of 480 m and 595 m. If objects were dropped from top of each, what would be the dissimilarity in the time it takes the objects to arrive at the ground?
