I am having a little trouble with carbon tracing. I know how to label the carbons when the question asked for the labeling pattern of oxaloacetate formed (a), however, I do not know where to label the carbons in part B, C, F of the question.

I just need help understanding the logic of these parts (B,C,F) of the following question:

"You are following the metabolism of pyruvate in which the carbonyl-C is radioactive: CH3*COCOO-.

a) show the labeling pattern (and its distribution) of oxaloacetate (OAA) formed if 50% is produced by the citric acid cycle and 50% by the pyruvate carboxylase reaction.

B)Indicate the carbon(s) in isocitrate on which label would b detected during the next turn of the citric acid cycle.

(C) if the isocitrate in part b were eventually converted to glutamate, where would the label be in glutamate.

(F) if the isocitrate in part b were eventually converted to aspartate, where would the label be in aspartate. any help as to where the logic behind shifting the label goes would be of so much help. thanks in advance.
