The invention of the cotton gin played an important role in farm owners and the progression in southern states by creating advanced textile cloth and an increase in profit.
I. The cotton gin was created to advance the textile of clothing and provide more income for those who are farm owners. Enslaved people made an increase in working on farms and the population of enslavement increased in Southern States. Many of the farm owners hired more slaves to do their work such as growing cotton and farming in general. Due to the increase of income, many of the farm owners needed more resources because the cash crop continued to grow.
