Helium is used to operate an 18 hp gas turbine. The gas enters the steady-flow device at 220 ft/s through an area of 0.020 ft2. The inlet state is 40 psia and 440F. The exit state is 15 psia and 220 F. The exit area is 0.0270 ft2. Compute:

a) the final velocity in ft/s.

b) the heat transfer rate in Btu/min.
