Karen is an employee at a national church foundation, and recently stopped dating John, who also works at the foundation. John has been stalking Karen, and last week he finally delivered on his threat to hurt her - by shooting her in her office with his M-4 rifle. She survived, and John killed himself. She sued the church foundation for failure to take reasonable steps to prevent injury to her. Which of the following is true?
