Goal

You should be able to find the relationship between the red shift in spectra of distant galaxies and the rate of the expansion of the universe.

Use a simulated spectrometer to acquire spectra and apparent magnitudes.

Determine distances using apparent and absolute magnitudes.

Measure Doppler shifted H & K lines to determine velocities.

Calculate the rate of expansion of the universe. Calculate the age of the universe.
