A refrigeration system, using R-22 as the working fluid, has condenser and evaporator pressures of 250 psi and 30 psi, respectively. The refrigerant passes through each heat exchanger with a negligible pressure drop. At the inlet and exit of the compressor, the temperatures are 10 oF and 300 oF, respectively. The heat transfer rate from the working fluid passing through the condenser is 50,000 Btu/h, and liquid refrigerant exits at 250 psi and 105 oF. If the compressor operates adiabatically, determine:

(a) the compressor power input, in hp.

(b) the coefficient of performance of the system.

(c) the isentropic efficiency of the compressor.
