Refrigerant 134a enters a compressor at 200kPa, 100% quality and exits at 1MPa, 60 degrees centigrade. The speed of the R-134a at the inlet is 40m/s, the speed at the exit is 10m/s and the mass flow rate of the R-134a through the compressor is 0.08kg/s. The heat transfer from the compressor to the surroundings is 0.63 kW. Include the change in the kinetic energy of the R-134a and compute the power input needed to operate the compressor.
