1. To get a different perspective on customer centric business models that often have some sort of "value added" think about what you, as a customer, have experienced. Do you have loyalty to any ape of product or company? If so, does that company offer anything that falls under "value added"?

2.What can you learn by analyzing the facts presented in this Infographic?

3. Curious about how effective email marketing is, I did some quick research online and found that eMarketer estimates that "e-mail advertising spending will grow from $338 million in 2006 to $616 million in 2011, a six-year increase of 82%". How astonishing it is to see the costs involved in email marketing!

In a post on Topica - a blog focused on email marketing - it is stated that "In 2009 email marketing had an ROI of $43.62 while the next best method, internet search advertising, came in at $21.85. Businesses need to turn less dollars into more and maybe it's just me, but I can't think of anywhere else I can put $1 and get $43 back.

Some don't believe in the power of email marketing, but the stats are there and the results are real. Since 2005, when the Direct Marketing Association(DMA) began keeping track of ROI for email marketing, it has continued to average more than $40 and is projected to do so again this year." - again that is a fabulous return, an indication that email is the equivalent of direct mail marketing for the electronic age.

4. What examples of social responsibility do you see from businesses in your community? In what way do these efforts impact your purchasing decisions?

5. When we use the term "Business" in our discussions, it is generic and applies to all sizes of businesses, organizations, institutions, government agencies, schools, etc. UOPX is an organization that we are all familiar with and it may be interesting to see what each other thinks about the use of SNs for UOPX. Take a few minutes and search for UOPX on

Facebook

other?

Do you find UOPX on these SN sites? What do you determine is the goal of a presence for each site?

Does UOPX have good SN coverage and message, or would you expect UOPX to be using SNs in a different manner?
