A 12-inch cast iron water pipe that has been in service for 50 years is found to have extensive corrosion inside. Inspection of a section of the pipe reveals that the inside diameter is half the original value and the equivalent sand roughness Ks has increased from 0.2 mm to 1 mm. How these conditions would affect friction losses in the pipe describe it.
