The Emergence of Solar Panels in the Middle East

Even though solar energy has been around for a few years it is still considered to be one of the best of prospects that is being pushed by governments globally. The Middle East is a country in which sunshine is an abundant natural source of energy that is not in short supply.

However, that is not a deterrent for the Middle Eastern officials to opt out of building a solar panel park. In 2015, Saudi Arabia's ACWA Power International won a bid for a contract to build a portion of large solar plant for Dubai Electricity and Water Authority. Some of the top oil exporters wanted to be among the major players in solar power.

The bids that were placed by the Saudis was extremely low and analysts feared that the super low bids would not set global standards. The low-ball bids that were placed by the Middle Eastern companies are able to make such bids because they have access to low cost capital from sovereign wealth funds and regional banks (DiChristopher, 2017).

The objective of the Middle Eastern firms was to capture market share and to establish a track record of building solar projects in the region. The time-frame in which they were entering the market was a great time due to the low prices of obtaining solar power parks. The price was so low that the firms in the Middle East were able to benefit although they were late in getting solar power (DiChristopher, 2017).

The Middle East has become more efficient and sustainable in the competitive energy market since getting solar power. The Middle East has decided to conserve oil resources specifically for exports due to their having solar power. Having solar power the Middle East is able to invest in it across the country attempting to diversify the county's energy supplies as well as act as a shield for their oil supply. Solar power is cheaper for them to invest in and has assisted in improving the country's infrastructure (Mayor, 2014).

The renewable-energy community could grow tremendously in the following years due to the need to find clean energy alternatives to oil and gas.

Renewable-energy companies suffered in 2015, with stock prices plunging. But the sector is set to grow rapidly in 2016 (McBride, 2016) .

New clean-energy technologies could make it easier for countries to submit increasingly ambitious climate plans. Two announcements made on the sidelines of the Paris summit could boost innovation.

First, Bill Gates and 27 other billionaire investors pledged to support basic research and development in clean energy. In addition, 20 countries, including the United States, China, and India, pledged to double public funding for R&D to a collective $20 billion by 2020. By the end of 2016, substantial investment flows to support R&D could make it more likely for breakthrough technologies to emerge(McBride, 2016) .

Renewable-energy companies suffered in 2015, with stock prices plunging. But the sector-based on mature technologies for wind turbines and solar panels-is set to grow rapidly in 2016.

China and India have set impressive targets for deploying renewable energy, and the United States recently extended generous tax credits that will support several years of booming renewable-energy growth. If this helps these companies recover in 2016, it will be an encouraging sign that the industry is moving in the right direction to challenge the fossil-fuel industry(McBride, 2016) .

This market was chosen because the market took a huge hit in 2015 but is slowly climbing out of its hole. It also has some strong backers that are pushing companies and the government to find an alternative to oil and gas. The markets that will most likely grow substantially are, wind and solar renewable-energy resources. There has been a new push to get solar on houses again that is only growing.

Renewable-energy is a growing international business. There are countries like Germany who are pushing hard to have renewable-energy (E, 2007) .
