The authors of Diversity Consciousness suggests that diversity consciousness provides leaders with the skills to promote interpersonal openness and to build relationships in a global, multicultural environment. The authors further contend that three of the most important skills are adapting, thinking and communicating inclusively, and self-monitoring. Do you agree? Why or why not?

2). One of the biggest issues when setting up policies to avoid discrimination is that the people not included in the policies may end up feeling discriminated against. Many companies, for example, set up family-friendly policies that allow parents to take time off for family problems or to work from home for a certain number of days. Employees who are not parents can feel discriminated against. As a manager, how can you handle these types of complaints?
