Management was invented in the last century and it is about a set of processes that make something functional. Management uses a set of processes so that they can control people in the organization.

Leadership is when you lead people. In order to be a leader you need to have people that will follow you. Leaders will create a vision and it is their job to get people excited enough to follow their vision.

Leadership is focuses on long term goals whereas management focuses on short term goals. Leadership is about achievements whereas management looks for results. Leaders have followers and management has subordinates.

Leaders will appeal to your heart whereas management will appeal to your head.
