Demographers state that within 30 years, Caucasians will likely no longer be the majority race in The United States of America.  The societal change  primarily results from immigration and the difference in birthrates between racial and ethnic groups.

There are growing cries from some quarters in our society that white America is losing its historic position of control within the society and that there now exists discrimination against white Americans.

For this post, look at other nations throughout history with an ethnic minority ruling over a nation with a diverse population and give us some examples of how that's gone.  Specifically, we want to consider what the societal implications will be in 2050 if our elected officials are what's typical now - white men, as opposed to a representation of the makeup of our society.  Can the ruling class protect their positions through gerrymandering or other techniques, or will our shifting demographics ensure that the candidates we vote for will naturally be a reflection of the makeup of our society?

Bring outside sources.  Stay away from politically dogmatic statements.  Show evidence.  Stay away from "I think," "I feel," "I believe."
