An aerosol contains particles with just two distinct diameters: 10 μm and 16 μm. The mass concentration is equally divided between the two particle sizes, and the total mass concentration is equal to 150 μg/m3. This aerosol flows through a cyclone. The cyclone has an efficiency closely approximated by the Lapple efficiency equation, with 50% cut diameter equal to 8 μm. Calculate the mass collection efficiency of the cyclone with this aerosol flowing through.
