Question
You are asked to research Greek architecture and discuss some of the symbolization associated with this.
The culture of Greece affected its architecture. A building is made up of much more than the materials it is built with. Each architectural element likely represents layers of history, conversations, religiosity, perspectives, and symbolism. Oftentimes, each part of a building's architecture serves a specific purpose-not only functionally, but also symbolically. For your project, put together a PowerPoint presentation, a minimum of 15 slides using at least 3 academic sources, on elements of Grecian architecture. This project will require research on the history of Greece and Grecian architecture. Slides should include written text as well as pictures. Make sure you have completed the Forum post on the Greek Parthenon to help gain a deeper grasp on the purpose and meanings of Greek Architecture served. Try to find the answers to these questions to help you start with this project: What was the purpose of this building? For example, was a space built for purely conventional use? Was it built for religious purposes? Was it built to serve as a memorial? Or, was it built to make a statement?
