Answer the following questions in detail regarding the video "The Complexity Of Life"

 

  1. Describe the difference in the approach of a botanist, a cell biologist, a geneticist, and a chemist with regard to the understanding of a flower.
  2. According to the video, What is the limitation in breaking the flower down into its individual components? (Scientists would call this a reductionist approach)
  3. How can rules simpler than those of physics and chemistry result in a great deal of complexity? (in other words, how can the game of chess be so complex?)
  4. Relate the understanding of question #3 to the interpretation of data in science (say for example effects of pharmaceuticals on various patients). Can we break humans down into their individual components and prescribe the same drugs for all patients? Why or why not?
