The 1985 movie "The Breakfast Club" is a famous depiction of five high school students and the "teen angst" that individuals go through in the teenage years. For this extra credit option, please watch the film and think about Erik Erikson's stage "Identity vs. Role Confusion". Pick two characters in the film and discuss how they are going about navigating this stage. Where are they having success? Where are they having challenges? Do you think they will be able to successful navigate through this stage?

Free Solo is a documentary film that is available on various streaming networks on-line and follows the story of Alex Honnold, a professional climber who is known for his risk and adventurous free solo climbs. The documentary follows him as he prepares to climb El Capitan in Yosemite National Park. Alex is a VERY interesting person and there are several references to how his personality is suitable for this type of endeavor. For this extra credit option, I'm offering 10 points if you watch the film and discuss how Alex's personality is suitable for free solo climbing. You want to consider all 8 of the perspectives we've covered this semester. There is one scene where they conduct an fMRI of his brain, and it directly relates to some of the ideas we considered as contributing to personality in the biological approach. You will not regret seeing this film. It is amazing.
