Two balls (1.5 kg & 1.1 kg) hang by strings of the same length( 0.75 m) such that they are touching as they hang. The 1.5 kg ball is pulled back to a height of 0.7 m above its hanging position and then allowed to swing back down toward the 1.1 kg ball.

a) Calculate the period of oscillation of the 1.5 kg ball if were allowed to swing freely back and forth.

b) Calculate the frequency of oscillation of the 1.5 kg ball.

c) Using the conservation of energy, calculate the speed of the 1.5 kg ball right before it strikes the 1.1 kg ball hanging at rest.

d) Usingthe motion equations, calculate the speed of the 1.5 kg ball right before it strikes the 1.1 kg ball hanging at rest.

e) What will be the 1.1 kg ball's belocity be immediately after the collision if the 1.5 kg ball is moving at 0.5 m/s (how fast is the 1.1 kg ball moving immediately after the collision)

f) How high will the 1.1 kg ball reach before coming to a brief stop and swing back downward?

g) Calculate the amount of potential energy of the 1.1 kg ball at the height calculated in "f".

h) How high will the 1.5 kg ball reach before coming to a brief stop and swing back downward?

i) Calculate the amount of potential energy of the 1.5 kg ball at the height calculated in "h".
