A nationwide survey claimed that about 50% of parents with young children condone spanking their child as a regular form of punishment. A sociologist believes the proportion is different from this. In a random sample of 512 parents with young children, 275 admitted to spanking their child as a regular form of punishment. Use the classical approach, at a 10% level of significance, to test the sociologist's claim.
