Test Concerning the difference between population means

Question:

1. To determine whether having relationship with the opposite sex in college is detrimental to one's grade, the following grade point averages of 10 students were.

With relation          3.0, 1.75, 2.75, 2.5, 1.5, 1.25, 2.75, 3.0 1.25, 2.25

with out relation   1.5, 2.5, 2.0, 1.75, 1.75,  2.0,  1.75,  2.5  1.75,  2.0

Assuming the population to be normally distributed, test at the 0.05 level of significance whether having relationship with the opposite sex in college is detrimental to one's grades.

2. Samples of copra delivered by compradors to the oil factory were tested for aflatoxin content (ppb) yielded the following results:

Comparador 1     2.5 , 6.4, 2.0, 5.2, 6.5, 5.5, 3.5, 4.0

Comparador 2     1.5, 2.2, 1.6, 3.0, 4.5, 3.0, 1.75, 3.75

Use the 0.05 level of significance to test whether the difference between the sample means is significant, assuming the population to be normally distributed with unequal variance. Do the same if the variances are equal.
