Competition amongst recycling companies in the UK is high. One of the largest costs to TerraCycle is the cost and resources used in the logistics of supply chains. In order to maintain a competitive edge TerraCycle is looking towards improving its supply chains to meet its organisational goals and reduce costs. During 2020 to 2022 due to the global pandemic there were severe delays to supply chains across industry and changes in consumer behaviour. TerraCycle is looking towards investing in sustainable supply chains in order to meet current and upcoming external challenges. Your task is to select a part of TerraCycle's supply chain from one of its activities in the United Kingdom and develop an Operations Plan to be implemented from the start of 2023 to 2024 with the aim of a more sustainable supply chain. Within your briefing paper you should:
1. Provide an example of a supply chain currently used by TerraCycle and create a map of its Supply Chain.
2. Based on the supply chain you have selected in part 1, assess the potential risks to TerraCycle's Supply Chain given the current global conditions.
3. Develop an Operations Plan to be implemented in 2023 to 2024 which will reduce costs and resources to TerraCycle's supply chain.
4. Suggest long term operations improvements to the supply chain with the aim of becoming more environmentally sustainable and discuss how these will be monitored and reviewed.
