Assignment - Technology in Healthcare Presentation
As we have learned throughout this course, it is necessary for a Medical Office Assistant to stay up-to-date with emerging trends in health care. As technology advancements continue to develop, technology will continue to play a major role in how healthcare is delivered. Therefore it is essential to be current with best practice through professional development and taking an interest in the growth and technology in the health care industry. In order to gain a better understanding about the impact technology has on our health system, you will be researching and creating presentation about some of the up and coming technologies being used in health care.
Instructions:
• Research and create a video presentation on an up and coming technology from the list provided.
• Each presentation must be 5 - 10 minutes in length.
• Get creative! Each presentation must have a visual aid, such as Power Point, video clips, pictures, posters etc.
• Your presentation must include the following:
o What the technology is (i.e. a brief introduction about the technology of choice)
o How the technology works
o What type of improvements or impact this technology will have or is having on health care
o In your opinion, do you agree or disagree that the chosen technology is improving health care in Canada? (Make sure to explain the rationale behind your opinion)
• Once you have created your video you will need to upload your video to D2L Dropbox for evaluation. You may also upload your video to YouTube, Good Drive, One Drive or Dropbox (through www.dropbox.com) if you are unable to upload your video to D2L due to size. Please ensure that the settings are set to private and that you are providing the link to your instructor.
