Technology has affected organizations tremendously. Moreover, technology has changed the structure and the operational of organizations all around the world. According to, Craiger, P. (2018). States that "in the early 1950s, saw the computer evolve from a military tool to a business machine.
The second paradigm shift, beginning in the 1980s, saw the computer evolve from an isolated PC on a worker's desk, to networks which connect computers throughout an organization and throughout the world.
This connectivity has resulted in flatter and more dynamic organizations, where the primary work unit is no longer the individual, but work teams. The latter shift is driving radical developments in the way organizations are structured and how they function."
In addition, this is how modern-day organization began to form and production became more apparent when they began team work. Employees began to work together to get the mission of the job accomplish.
The type of technology that was implemented was the computers, no more telegrams there were fax, as well as phone lines being placed in houses. The pace began to move very face because after phone lines was place in the houses technology beef up and came out with beepers and from there cell phones.
Moreover, this made it very easy for organization to communicate with other around the world as we know today as networking. When asked if this technology has enhanced or harmed organization I would say enhanced, but some may disagree and say harmed.
I can certainly see why because the technology was not used just for positive purposes but, some used technology in a very negative way by using the phones, pagers, a cell phone for illegal use to network. Lastly, it was enhancing in positive way because it made a better situation and open up opportunities for those who were poor it aloud them to gain work so they could take care of their families.
