Question

One consideration of any technology design and transformation process is the risks for discrimination. I have been involved in developing Smart Homes for seniors with a tremendous amount of technology involved. This experience led me to further research technology design and implementation with not only seniors but also individuals with disabilities. What often happens is a younger generation that has a certain level of tech expertise makes an assumption that other generations have that experience so provide minimal to no education and expect people to just magically figure it out. Similar experiences have occurred among people with disabilities. While some regulations exist to help, such as 508 compliance, issues can still arise. Please briefly discuss your thoughts on design and transformation considerations for a diverse workforce that may include varied education, age, disabilities, and more. What could be done to ensure all efforts are made to address and prevent possible discrimination?
