LO #1: Identify the role of Information Systems in business.
LO #2: Distinguish between the various types of Information Systems.
LO #3: Recognize the major components of a computer system, including hardware, software, operating systems and operating environments as they apply to information systems.
LO #4: Choose the key database and information management systems to improve business performance and ensure data quality.
LO #5: Evaluate the strengths and limitations of systems building approaches.
LO #6: Choose the key networking and internet technologies to support communication and e-business.
LO #7: Rate the key tools and technologies for safeguarding information resources.

Task 1:
Explain through a precise example the differences in terms of decision making performed in the TPS, MIS, DSS and ESS and the interrelationship between all of them in this firm.

Your answer should include a kind of decision making in:
A. Transaction processing systems (TPS) in this firm.
B. Management information systems (MIS) in this firm.
C. Decision support systems (DSS) in this firm.
D. Executive support systems (ESS) in this firm.

Task 2:
Describe the IT Infrastructure of this organization and explain through a precise example what is the role of emerging computer hardware and software platforms to support business in the chosen firm.
Your answer should include:
A. Emerging computer hardware in this firm such as: hardware for networking, hardware for storage and backup, distance-working hardware, etc.
B. Emerging computer software in this firm such as: LAN/MAN software, security software, distance-working software, etc.

Task 3:
Discuss how the Database approach can improve the business processes and support decision making in this firm.

Task 4:
Describe the security techniques used to secure the database and the network in the organization. Your answer should include the following (1 for each):

Project Structures:

Prepare your project report including at least 7 pages. The report should contain:

• Table of contents;
• Introduction;
• Detail of all project tasks (use same label "numbers" beside each attached task to be covered with same A B C D ...etc for answer their parts & write suitable headings before start answer them)
• Conclusion and future work;
• Bibliography and Netography.

The assessment of your project report will be based on the following criteria:
- Quality of analysis.
- Accuracy of concepts/theories used.
- General organization of the project.
- Variety of references.
