Team member roles: Perhaps the biggest blunder when setting objectives is to disregard those who can contribute. When team members are consulted, they will take ownership of the objectives. Both team leaders and managers "will benefit when all stakeholders are involved. Whilst planning may be instigated from senior management, the best plans come as a result of 'top-down and bottom-up' collaboration. When management and team members collaborate to establish goals and objectives a strong conviction to achieve those objectives is forthcoming. The concepts of ownership and empowerment are crucial. Answer the following questions (less than 200 words per question): a. Consider your own workplace team. Who do you involve in the planning process? b. What contribution do you expect each member to make? c. How do you ensure that all team members really contribute?
