A "team" is loosely defined in your text as a "group of people organized to work together toward the achievement of a goal." (Knapp, p. 392) As a team works together to achieve a common goal, the team moves through different stages: forming, storming, norming and performing. For a team to reach the performing stage, it must have "team players." Team players are critical to the success of any group, of any service department, of any organization.

Please answer the following questions as if you are the new applicant being interviewed:

1. Consider your own experiences in working with a team. What was your individual role in this team?

2. Imagine you are the manager of a service desk for a mid-sized company that offers sales and service to external customers. You are interviewing an applicant to work in the service desk. How would you explain the importance of working as a team? How would you describe this new person's role in the team process?

3. Further into the interview, you talk about that "mix" of skills that you look for in new hires. From your personal and individual perspective, how do technical skills, communication skills, business skills and self-management skills link together to ensure outstanding customer service and support in a professional environment? Integrate the skills, concepts and objectives of the course into your response.

Please answer all of the questions,
