Team coaching is an increasingly recognized practice within organizations. Unlike individual coaching, which centers on personal growth and performance, team coaching involves facilitating collective work processes, fostering collaboration, and improving the team's dynamics and outcomes (Hackman & Wageman, 2005). The role of the team coach has evolved over the past 20 years with various definitions purposed. Through a synthesis of the literature, several themes as to the role of the team coach emerged. The first is the team coach as facilitating team learning and development. Team coaches support teams in Identifying gaps in perception and KSAs (Jones et al., 2019). Team coaches also create opportunities for the team members to learn and practice KSAs (Clutterbuck, 2020). According to Fernandez Castillo et al. (2024), the team coach supports active team learning. The second prominent role of the team coach discerned from the literature was that of enhancing team performance and goal alignment.
