Target Corp. has a strong history of growth, however, its more recent history has not been as strong. Its failure in Canadian markets, the Christmas data breech a few years ago and its loss of market share (to Amazon most likely) are two of its recent challenges. Within the last month one industry analyst suggested that Target might be a takeover target for Amazon. Target was once the model for upscale discount stores but that no longer seems to be the case.
