Learning outcome 1: Demonstrate extensive and detailed knowledge of well-established theories, principles and practices related to marketing within tourism, and events in an international context.
Learning outcome 2: Creatively apply the acquired knowledge and skills to designing effective marketing strategies and plans within tourism, and events; through written and visual formats.
Assessment 2 is a portfolio of work comprised of three elements relating to the development of a marketing strategy:
a) Develop an infographic storyboard that communicates visual and written ideas for a marketing strategy for an event or destination of your choice
b) A communication strategy that supports the creative piece of work and gives practical suggestions for implementing the strategy
c) A creative piece of work (e.g. e-poster, video, social media campaign) justified by your communications strategy
- Synthesise a range of quantitative and qualitative sources
- Develop a new communication strategy for an event or a tourist destination
