Question - You are a registered Industrial Psychologist (private practice) operating in Mbombela. A financial institution in Sandton requested you to administer a battery of assessments to five (5) shortlisted candidates (2 English; 2 Afrikaans; and 1 Xhosa) for the position of risk manager.
They also asked you to provide a report of the assessment results and recommend three possible candidates for the position. You enlisted the service of a psychometrist (independent practice) to assist with the administration and scoring of the test battery. However, you will interpret the results, write the report, and provide recommendations of three possible candidates. After receiving the result sheets and the assessment scores, you realise that the signed informed consent forms are missing. You have also received an e-mail from the client indicating that candidates complained about the behaviour of the Psychometrist during the assessment. The Psychometrist arrived in gym clothes and just handed them the assessment battery without providing any instructions. When one candidate asked what to do, the Psychometrist ignored him and just chewed her gum with headphones on. Two of the candidates asked to complete the test battery in Afrikaans but were told it is only available in English.
Based on the case study, answer the following questions
1. Outline the factors you would consider when selecting measures to include in your test battery.
2. Recommend the situational test that would be appropriate to combine with the assessment battery given the position of risk manager and motivate your choice.
3. Evaluate the case study and recommend the things the Psychometrist should have done differently. Take the professional and ethical assessment practices as well as the process that should be followed during an assessment session into account.
