At a point toward the end of the 1990’s, it was estimated that 75% of all the major system projects failed, were significantly over budget, or were completed late. Many did not meet customer (requester) expectations. Since this disastrous time, many companies have embraced formal project management professionals, tools, and commitment with significantly improved results.
