Task: Prepare a consultancy report based on the case study information

This re-assessment should use the feedback from the first submission to develop your consultancy report. You should use the same case study to develop a written report that provides an analysis of the case study organisation, benchmarking with another organisation and provides application of a model of sustainability for improvement.

Word limit: 2000 words

You should use the feedback from your first submission to further develop and hone your sustainability analysis skills. This assignment is designed for you to apply the tools and frameworks of sustainability to a practical scenario - conducting analysis of their current processes and making suitable recommendations. The resit assignment requires you to apply a new tool in part 3.

You will be expected to analyse and evaluate the sustainability of the organisation's supply chain and apply a different tool that will facilitate improvement than in your first submission.

Marking Criteria
1. Analysis
Analyse the sustainability performance of the case study organisations' supply chain. You should include in this analysis:
o Quantified analysis of their CO2, other emissions and waste.
o Discussion of social impacts.
o Complexities of balancing environment and social aspects with business and economic success for this organisation..
2. Benchmarking
Benchmark the case study organisations' current approach to sustainability against another organisation.
Compare, contrast and critique the case study organisation with an example of best practice that was discussed at some point during the module. This should focus on the processes of procurement, production (if applicable); distribution; warehousing; transportation and logistics and packaging

3. Application
Apply one of the tools, techniques or frameworks to the case study organisation and explain the steps to improve [this must be a different tool to your first submission].
This could be one of any of the following:
1. Lifecycle management
2. A specific tool for improving sourcing, production, logistics, e.g. multi-modal logistics decisions
3. Closed loop supply chains
4. Waste hierarchy application
5. ISO 14001 and/or PDCA application
6. Another tool/technique/framework as agreed with your tutor.

Explain how this tool will improve the organisation's sustainability and the steps involved. This should be an applied discussion - generic explanation of one of the tools will not yield a high mark.

Academic rigour
Your assignment should be written in good business English and be well-structured and presented. Your assignment should clearly include the academic insight, i.e. the concepts and the supporting references involved, indicated in the assignment and listed in the references and bibliography.
