Scenario introduction
Cenlife - Case study organisation As a business manager for Cenlife. Cenlife is a Sydney company focused on providing affordable cosmetics and haircare products. The brand has been popular at pharmacies and chemists across Australia. The products contain organic ingredients rather than artificial chemicals, which has appealed to a younger demographic. However, over the last few years, consumers have become more conscious of the impact cosmetic packaging is having on the environment. Lately, Cenlife has received a lot of negative feedback from customers regarding the amount of plastic packaging used, especially in its cosmetic products, as each individual product in a pack is wrapped in plastic, and then fitted into a plastic case, before being enclosed in the hard plastic outside cover. The plastic is not biodegradable, and if burned, gives off toxic fumes. As a result, Cenlife is no longer perceived to be invested in sustainability or the environment. The negative feedback prompted the organisation to start having conversations about its plastic usage with their employees and stakeholders. It was soon realised that not only is the plastic packaging a major problem, but so are single-use plastics consumed every day in the workplace. Make a policy as an inclusion to Cenlife's current sustainability policy and procedures Ensure to incorporate the agreed scope and objectives, and organisational processes and include the following components:
