Susan was referred to a Mental Health Clinic for assessment by her primary physician. During assessment, she communicated to the clinician she was experiencing a pervasive and excessive need to be taken care of leading her to submissive and clinging behavior. She added that she needs others to assume responsibility for most major areas of her life, has difficulty making everyday decisions without excessive amount of advice, goes to excessive lengths to obtain nurturance and support from others, feels uncomfortable when she is alone, and has difficulty initiating projects or doing things on her own. Susan's clinical presentation is that of an individual with the following disorder: Borderline Personality Dependent Personality Disorder Obsessive-Compulsive Personality Disorder Histrionic Personality Disorder.
