Question

Snakes who must survive in the same area as cane toads quickly learn not to open their mouths wide. This causes their jaw tissues to contract and become smaller from lack of use. This new smaller mouth size is passed on to their offspring giving them better survival potential. As a consequence in the middle of the range you observe longer snakes than on the edge of the range where the cane toads are just now invading.
