Preoperative Diagnosis: Probable SLAP lesion, right shoulder Postoperative Diagnosis: 1. Type II SLAP lesion, right shoulder 10% articular side thickness rotator cuff tear, supraspinatus tendon Operative Procedure: 1. Right shoulder examination under anesthesia Arthroscopic evaluation Arthroscopic SLAP lesion repair Arthroscopic subacromial decompression Perioperative Information: Anesthesia- general anesthesia Estimated blood loss- minimal Complications- none Sponge and needle counts- correct Material to lab- none Indications: The patient is a 28-year-old man who has had shoulder pain for several years now. He did a lot of pitching in his younger years. He continues to have shoulder pain with dynamic activity. When he is not really doing anything dynamic, he doesn't have much in the way of pain. He requested further intervention after an MRI scan was obtained that showed probable Type II SLAP lesion to his superior labrum. After full counsel he went to the operating room.
