SUPPORT PERSONAL WELLBEING IN THE WORKPLACE
You will ne ed to refl ect on one situation that applies to your everyday life; it must relate to either a job you have, or your college work, this will be referred to as your workplace. Alternatively, you can u se the scenario provided in the simulation pack
CASE STUDY
Whilst studying this course you are offered a job. It's working on the days that you do not attend college, therefore you are able to attend classes and study in your spare time. You dec ide to ta ke the job. After a month you have fou nd yourself in the following situation:
- The hours that you are working are much longer than you expected.
- You do not get home till 6:30 every night.
- Within your role you are struggling with a colleague who is continually harassing you to not take your allocated lunch or tea breaks because "the work isn't getting done on time".
As sume that your job is located in your local community.
List the factors impacting on your own wellbeing as identified in your self-reflection task.
Ensure that these are the same as what you identified in Section 1.
Identify the appropriate style and method of communication that you will use to communicate the issue with your supervisor.
This may be defined by whether you attend online or face to face and any communication needs you or your supervisor may have.
Write a checklist of things that you would like to say to the supervisor.
Reme mber this will be to support your cause and help you to feel empowered about your own wellbeing in the workplace.

Identify one formal wellbeing resource that you think will help you.
You could ac cess this from your workplace or ask your assessor for information available for students at the college.

You could res earch wellbeing resources from your local area, an online course, or videos, podcasts or articles.
