Developing and Implementing Innovative Workplace Culture
One of the critical success factors for allowing innovation in the workplace lies in the organisation's environment and culture. To maximise opportunities for innovation in your organisation, you must also know how to build culture, coach, and mentor your team members to develop their capacity to contribute to innovation and model the desired behaviour.
Part A: Innovative Workplace Culture Strategy
Having analysed industry trends and prescribing the various innovative thinking practices that Us3 Steakhouse canadopt in its efforts to use innovation to improve its products and services under yourleadership as HR manager, you are now to do develop a strategy to promote and sustain the culture ofinnovation for the organisation in which you are to:
1. Innovative processes, practices, services Promotion Strategy
a) For each of the listed Business areas listed, identify the processes and practices, products and or services for innovative thinking that Us3 Steakhouse can establish to build a culture of innovation and the methods that can be used to introduce and promote them to employees/ stakeholders
2. Communication Strategy
a) Capturing innovative ideas and practices is essential to Us3 meeting market demands by designing new or improving current products and services. Determine how you will capture, communicate and share contributed ideas from Us3 employees and stakeholders.
b) It is essential to foster team communication and consultation to optimize the skills and input of groups to build innovative culture at Us3. Elaborate on TWO examples of these methods for each .
3. Team Management Strategy
a) Using the 5-step approach to team development for innovation, research and review how Us3 can develop team to manage the issues they are facing. Explain how Us3 Steakhouse can use this to promote innovative ideas with regards to the issues listed in the case. Use external research to demonstrate how it will be beneficial to workplace culture if necessary and cite your references below .
4. Resource Plan
a) Research, analyse and discuss the various types of resources needed to implement for any 3 of the innovative thinking practices for Us3 Steakhouse you have identified in Section 1 .
5. Fostering Innovation
a) Develop strategies, based on your research on other actual organisations, to encourage innovation in workplace culture in on the following areas:
i) Diversity and Inclusion
ii) Role Modelling
iii) Staff Empowerment
iv) Leadership Styles
v) Collaborative Work Environments
6. Innovation Systems and Processes
a) Systems that support innovation can be built by consulting with relevant stakeholders. Elaborate on any ONE system to collect feedback from employees and ONE system to collect feedback from customers and show how they support innovative thinking in their implementation.
b) Innovations are most successful when they address specific problems and can be integrated into existing processes. For each of the listed steps, provide a description of the process and the implementation process of Us3 Steakhouse in supporting a culture of innovation.
