Supply Chain Management as a Value Driver
The delivery of goods and services of expected standards on a good time at the “best in class” cost is creating value for money for clients and hence adding value to the business in its entirety (Basu, 2011). A reputable and successful supply chain management involves a proper design followed by its implementation. Indeed, the design process is of utmost importance as it motivates firms to explore beyond their limitations, experiment and challenge traditional thinking, and introduce new ideas (Taylor & Björnsson, 2002). An efficient design process minimizes the revisions required to realize a design’s workability. Supply chain management gets affected by the failure to consider suppliers’ capabilities at every level of designing a product. Apple, the technology giant company approach to design is delivering a series of presents to the client (Russell & Taylor, 2005).
