Hello, how are we doing? Is it possible for someone to give a better insight into these/ Please and thank you. Ive seen an answer from a tutor, but i would love a different perspective. 

Supplemental Inquiry Requirement

Modules 2, 4, and 6 each include a supplemental inquiry that encourages you to venture beyond the text for additional learning opportunities.

For the two inquiries that require reading (in modules 2 and 6), you may choose published (printed or elec­tronic) or unpublished (manu­script) sources. The purpose of the supplemental readings is to (1) provide you with more information on specific topics than exists in the textbook and (2) allow you the freedom to select your own reading materials.

For the supplemental inquiry that involves an on-the-job analysis (in module 4), you will rely on primary (first­hand) research.

Please note that the supplemental readings do not require the writing of additional papers. Rather, they are part of a given week's reading assignment.

Supplemental Inquiry Proposal

Submit a proposal to your mentor in which you identify the readings and on-the-job topic you have chosen to fulfill the supplemental inquiry requirements for modules 2, 4, and 6.

Please follow these steps:

Step 1: Review the topics below for which you need to select supplemental readings.

Step 2: Find readings (articles, books, websites, or the like) that apply to these topics.

Step 3: Submit a proposal to your mentor in which you identify the two readings you have chosen for each inquiry, giving full citations and a brief description of each reading and how it relates to the topic.

Note: Include in your proposal a brief description of the on-the-job analysis you plan to conduct as your module 4 supplemental inquiry.

  1. Module 2: From Boss to Peer: Find and read two print or electronic articles on the shift in authority and decision making from managers to non-managers in any organization or industry.
  2. Module 4: Job Analysis: Consider one case of task-oriented job analysis or competency modeling (worker-oriented job analysis) within your workplace. Analyze the impact it has had on an existing job or set of jobs.
  3. Module 6: Motivation: Find and read two printed or electronic articles that discuss either motivational theories or motivational practices in a specific workplace, industry, or sector. Determine whether the examples reflect strategies that (a) compel employees to act or (b) encourage them to participate.
